Ditch The Weekend Waiting Game And Have Fun Now

How often do we say, "If I can just hold on a few more days the weekend is almost here." or "I can't wait for the weekend, we are going to have so much fun."?
Why wait until the weekend to have fun?
As you approach each day, begin with a positive and intentional mindset. Decide how you want to show up and set the tone for success. When you clearly define your key objectives for the day, include joy as one of the important outcomes.
This simple mindshift can make your entire to-do list seem less intimidating.
I love what Loretta LaRoche has to say about this, "All we ever seem to do is talk about how much stress we have in our lives, but why doesn't anyone seem to talk about how much fun they're having? Fun cancels out stress. The chemistry of fun reduces our anxiety levels and roots us in the moment - when we're living in the present, it allows the mind to stop the incessant demands that lead to our feeling stressed."
Here are a few tips to help you along the way:
Give yourself permission to spend equal amounts of time on positive pursuits.
If you spend ten minutes worrying about how much work is still piled up on your desk, spend ten minutes walking in nature.
If you spend half an hour obsessing about how bad the traffic is and how you're going to be late for dinner, spend a half hour listening to your favorite music and just love every minute of it.
When you were younger, did you have chores to do around the house? Were you told, "You can have fun when your chores are done."? Could this be why we look at the work week this way?
It's time we realize that our chores are never done. A life without stress is a life without challenge and passion.
Remember the last time you laughted so hard you forgot your worries? Let's aim for more moments like that.
Let's incorporate fun into as many moments as we can. We aren't guaranteed a tomorrow.
Let's live the life out of every day, not just the weekends!
What will you do today to add more fun to your life?
Thought for the day - No one will care how many closets you cleaned or how many times along the way you emptied your in-box. Celebrate often!
Have A Great Day!
