SHINEWORTHY LIFESTYLES: CONFIDENCE TO MOVE FORWARD- CLARITY TO SHINE
SHINEWORTHY LIFESTYLES: CONFIDENCE TO MOVE FORWARD- CLARITY TO SHINE

Have you been sitting on the sidelines allowing fear and self-doubt to hold you back? Whether it is fear or self-doubt, I believe it all starts with Naysayers. They have a way of stealing our joy, and filling us with fear and self-doubt. Let's stop giving them permission to take a front row seat in our lives. It's time to do what it takes to get in the game. This may hit close to home for you, but I must ask you a personal question - When you look in the mirror, do you see your Number One Naysayer staring back at you? If we are being honest with ourselves, most of us could answer, "Yes" to this question.

I believe these four areas are the culprit of Self-Doubt:

  • Fear of Failure

  • Fear of Success

  • People Pleasing

  • Past Mistakes

Of all our fears, most originate in our minds, and never happen. We fear that we won't have what we need in the future: Love, Friendships, Family, Financial Security, Health. We worry about what we might not have in some distant future.

For some the fear of failing is keeping them from moving forward. The "What Ifs" keep running through their minds. What if I lose everything? What if I look stupid, and people laugh at me? What if I __________?

For others, the fear of success is holding them back. They have a complete different set of "What Ifs" to deal with - What if I can't handle the fame? What if my friends get jealous? What if I _________?

Eleanor Roosevelt was a woman who wouldn't bow to fear. She said, "Do one thing every day that scares you." She knew that to conquer fear you have to stare it down.

For others, they have a hard time moving forward because they want to make everyone around them happy. As a result, instead of fulfilling their own purpose and dreams, they allow others to control their decisions.

Another area that can hold us back are past mistakes.

Regrets, I've had a few, but then again, too few to mention. . .We all have things in our past that we regret. There is nothing you can do to change the things of the past but there are some key steps you can take to help you move past the past and celebrate life once again.

It's time to let go and make "now" the most interesting time of all.

Life is short - don't let it pass you by because of self-doubt!

Your bad choices are no less valuable than your good choices, depending on how you learn from them. So you messed up - you've been given a brand new day. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again! Yesterday is gone. There's nothing more that can happen to you yesterday - make the most of a brand new day!

Not everyone is going to have your best interests at heart. Sometimes people around you want to keep you in a pit of despair by bringing things up from your past.

Remember that no one can make you feel inferior without your consent!

There is no one else quite like you! You are original! That's right. . .when you were born, the mold was broken. Everything about you is by God's design. You are personally crafted by the Master's Hand - from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. Even the time of your birth was part of God's plan. Every step you take and every move you made, he is right there to guide you along the way. Now that's something to celebrate!

Thought for the Day:

Our attitude determines our approach to life - Bye-bye Naysayer!
