Living each day to the fullest is a choice. To truly enjoy the daily blessings, one must choose to live the life out of every day, not drain the life out of every day.
How do we slow our crazy lives down? The key is found in planning ahead. By taking time each day to plan for the next, you can rest better at night.
What things should we plan for?
Plan to keep your appointment with God every day.
A daily appointment with God should be more important than any other. Spending time reading God's Holy Word, and praying for wisdon, discernment, and guidance will help you face circumstances that come your way. With God included in your plans, you can be more disciplined in actions, routine, and in your overall outlook on life.
Plan to stay focused and on task every day.
It can be difficult to stay on task everyday. Have you noticed how quickly an organized drawer can become unorganized? You may spend an entire day cleaning up clutter and in a matter of days, find it messy again. Our lives are much the same way. Everything is going along fine, and something unexpected occurs. The next thing you know your focus has shifted and everything seems to be falling apart. Don't give those unexpected occurrences permission to ruin your day. Take a deep breath, and start all over again.
Plan to laugh every day.
Having a sense of humor allows you to ignore the unappealing, endure the disagreeable, handle surprises, and find a way to smile during tough times. This is connected to your outlook on life and how you view problems in relation to the bigger picture.
Plan to treat everyone with dignity and respect every day.
Self-centered individuals frequently experience frustration because their contentment depends soley on having things their way. Additionally, some people are simply unkind. If you are a people pleaser, it can be hard not to take their actions personally. Remember, you can't please everyone. Treating people with dignity and respect, even when they don't do the same for you, is pleasing to God.
We are here to make this world a better place. Living the life out of every day starts with a plan and ends with blessings. Mother Teresa was an inpsiration to me. She lived a very simple life, and understood the value of helping others. In her book entitled, "A Simple Faith" one of her volunteers, Rupert, writes this, "The more you give, the more you get. And all the time you're giving, loving, and helping, more is given to the world, more than we'll ever know from our small step. It's like having a kind of empathy with the heart of the world."
Thought for the day - Love God, Love Others, Be Kind. . .
Together, we can make this world a better place!
Have a great day!
