Put Your Career On A Happy Track

Updated: Aug 9, 2021

"Right now you are one choice away from a new beginning." - Oprah Winfrey

The first step toward success is to decide what you like to do. Don't get me wrong. There are those who've become successful in spite of the fact that they didn't like their jobs. But they are few and far between. What do you like to do? What is it that causes your face to light up every time you talk about it? Is it Sales? Teaching? Coaching? Performing? Creative Design? Decide what you like to do and then determine how to be successful doing it.

Time really does fly when you're having fun. If you are in a job where you are watching the clock all day, just waiting for your shift to be over, it may be time to start planning a way of escape. There's a lot to be said for a steady income and benefits. Don't jump ship just yet. Start by harnessing your passion, then on your off time, be relentless in pursuing every possibility surrounding it. Just starting the process can motivate you and allow your current job to be more enjoyable - especially when you begin to see there are other options for your future.

"Now my life is based on choices; I choose how I think, and my thoughts create my reality. I choose how to respond, or not to respond. I move forward, learn to live with my choice, or change my direction." - Deb Sellars Karpek

Once you've decided what you like to do, start forming some good habits you can implement to aid in your pursuit of success. Learn to manage your time and not waste it. Be curious and have a desire to always be learning. Practice self-discipline because your motivation and work ethic depend on it. Always follow through and complete what you start. Be of service to others. Do the right thing; show your integrity. Keep your word.

In addition to the list of good habits listed above, cultivate a sense of enthusiasm and joy, then notice how you are suddenly attracting exactly the kind of people - helper, mentors, investors, and guides needed for success.

Enthusiasm is contagious - Negativity is toxic

It's time to put your career on a happy track!
