Embracing a Drama-Free Life

When you're up against a struggle, what do you do?
Here are some common reactions:
I fill my day full of activities and chatter in an effort to avoid the problem.
Call a friend and commiserate together for hours on end.
Work myself into a frenzy by convincing myself things are worse than they seem.
Say things I later regret.
React first, think second.
When faced with a struggle, many people react in ways that can be counterproductive, damaging, and unnecessary. We sometimes classify this sort of behavior as drama.
Drama includes anything that prevents you from accomplishing work, being truly happy, and having peace of mind. It can be problems with your boss, power struggles with other employees, a fight with a spouse, or even just feeling like you don't have enough time. Anything that takes your mind off your true focus, and drains your energy can be defined as drama.
I recently read that negativity cost the U.S. economy billions of dollars in lost productivity in just one year alone. How much is it costing you personally? Time from work? Your dignity? Your happiness and well-being?
To avoid letting drama rob us of our peace, consider these steps:
Stop: Spend quiet time with God daily and ask for His perspective.
Drop: Cut off conversations that tear others down.
Pray: Pray for those who hurt you and ask God to help you forgive them.
The next time you feel yourself getting pulled into drama, take time for these three steps. I promise it will save a lot of time, energy and grief.
Even with the best intentions, people will let you down from time to time.
Thought for the day - Human nature lends itself to an "all about me" attitude. The truth is, it's not all about us, it's all about God!
Have A Great Day!

Thank you!
