Stuck In A Rut?

When you first started thinking about working for a living, what did you want to do? How has that brought you to where you are today?
Are you in a job that you love or do you get up every morning singing the same song over and over? You may know the song by heart, "I owe, I owe, so off to work I go".
Having a job is a blessing, and our attitude should reflect our gratitude throughout the day. That's easier said than done if you are in the job strictly to pay the bills and to support your family.
Let me ask you again, when you first started thinking about working for a living, what did you want to do?
What is your passion?
You may be doing an excellent job but have no enthusiasm in your accomplishments. If you are having a hard time keeping your attitude where it needs to be, I would suggest you examine the situation and determine the root of the problem.
It may be that you need to develop a long-term plan to gradually put you where you want to be.
I am not suggesting you just walk away from your current job, obligations, mortgages, debt, and responsibilities with family. However, it is very motivating to know you can begin the process.
Our passions are sometimes put aside to pursue the world's definition of success. Some of the happiest people I know are living out their passion.
My husband is a pastor. He absolutely loves his job, and it shows.
I have friends who decided after years of planning and dreaming to open an art gallery. They love going to work every day, and it shows.
My daughter is a non-diet health and fitness coach who is committed to a kinder and more compassionate way to going about it. She loves what she does, and it shows.
I have a friend who is a nurse. She told me that even during cold and virus season she is reminded that God called her to this specific job for a reason. Nursing is her passion and there are many parts of her job that she loves. When she reflects on the complaints and unpleasantries that come along with it, they seem so small compared to the many things she loves, and it shows.
Our attitude determines our approach to life. Even if you are not working in the ideal job right now, make the most of it. Use each day as an opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of those around you.
Be thankful for the experience you will gain and do your best to be a blessing and not a burden to your employer.
Thought for the day - If every job in the world paid $2 an hour, what would you be doing right now? Would you do what you are doing right now OR is there something you would be happier, more energized, or love doing more? Love what you do; love why you do it; love who you do it with!
Have a Great Day!
