Some of the most influential people in my life were those who walked the walk, and didn't just talk the talk. They are role models for Christianity. I consider them to be part of my church family. They practice integrity and humility, showing concern for others in everything they do. Theses are real people who experience real problems.

The differentiating factors:

  • They base their lives on God's Holy Word, and set a Christ-like example for others to follow.

  • They are not hung up on what other people think about them.

  • They live their lives to please God.

  • They invite everyone to be a part of the church family.

I am grateful for every person who took time to love me and show me a glimpse of Christ's love through their actions.

Were they perfect? No.

Were they authentic? Yes.

These are the people who convinced me this way of life is worth living.

Out of gratitude for what I have been given, I strive to live my life in a way that influences others.

I warmly invite you to join me in paying it forward with an attitude of gratitude.

Here are some of the ways to pay it forward as we strive to make this world a better place:

  • Simply be a friend to others.

  • Provide help when help is needed.

  • Share experiences with others.

  • Treat everyone with dignity and respect.

  • Don't cast judgment.

  • Be curious.

  • Be kind.

  • Be sincere.

  • Be trustworthy.

  • Invite others to be a part of the church family.

Why be a part of the church family?

In this transient world that we live in, most people are working and living away from their close relatives. The church family can serve as your family away from home. In some instances, the church family is stronger and more stable than the biological family unit:

  • They catch you when you fall.

  • They help you get back on your feet again.

  • They hold you accountable in your daily activities.

  • They care for you when you're hurting.

  • They encourage you when you're feeling down.

  • They laugh with you.

  • They cry with you.

  • They cheer for you.

Thank God for Pastors!

I am so grateful for the leaders who have sacrificed in many ways to serve and teach the members of the church family.

They care for those who are hurting and they comfort the sick. They give of their time for the sake of Christ 24 hours/7 days a week. They sit by the bedside of those who are dying. They spend countless hours praying and seeking guidance and wisdom from above so they can lead the members to a better way of life both here and for eternity.

It is out of a love they have for others that they do the things they do. They don't seek recognition, but as human beings, they would surely appreciate a "thank you" from time to time.

Thought for the day - An attitude of gratitude is a true reflection of where you stand on matters of the heart.

Have A Great Day!
